Brilliantly colored picture book in which different animals of a parched African savanna use their five senses to track the rain. Great for read alouds and curriculums about the the five senses. ( ) "Rain" by Manya Stojic is a modern fantasy book that talks about different animals using their senses to tell whether it is raining. Each animal uses a different sense to tell it is raining, except for the lion who uses all his senses. After the rain stops the animals describe all the good and benificial things the rain left behind. Although the rain is gone the animals now it will come again.I would recommend this book to be read aloud to kids in early elementary school. The book does a good job of talking about how our five senses can be used to describe one thing and it also shows children some things that are made possible because of rain such as grass growing. This picture book about the rain coming to the African savanna is very straightforward, yet has many avenues that can be explored. The various animals experience the approach of the rain with their five senses. There is a lush burst of growth following the rain, yet foreshadowing that the cycle will continue. The animals and setting also leave much to be discussed. The illustrations are somewhat abstract, which seems to broaden the age range of readers. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
