If you love family history (I'm a nerd, I know), grew up with the original US version of Harry Potter books (like I did), you will love this book. ( )

I was a little confused by the title at the beginning of the story. the first pages talk about Annie's great aunt Claire and her homemade cosmetics. My essential oils- enthusiast self-was really excited...but the book wasn't about Aunt Claire or her style. the book is about Annie and her quest to know more about her family tree and the life of the generations before her. I love the way Mary Grandpre brings to life characters in every book.It really makes you feel like you're part of the book. I can smell Grandma Marilyn's wedding bouquet and feel the cold mountains David crossed. ( )

This is an adorable book that would be so fun to read in the classroom setting. I just came across it an absolutely fell in love! ( )

A little girl wonders about the pictures of her family members. Some she never met and some passed before she was born. She asks her family about the pictures. Throughout the book her family tells stories about the people in the photographs. Together they make an album of the family and their history. This would be a cute book to read to a class when discussing family trees. Students could bring in a picture of an older family member and share what they know about their relative. ( )
