Marcus is one of the Holland brothers. Of the four, there are three gay brothers (what are the chances?) and Marcus who is the odd one out. That is until he meets Brian, his mate. Marcus is not a happy camper. Quote from book..."Why couldn't this man belong to one of his gay brothers? Hell, why couldn't this man be a woman?" But pack law is pack law and no wolf questions it ...at least not out loud. What follows is a cute story as Marcus turns away from Brian and then needs to try to win him back. Throw in a bit of drama with a bitchy ex-girlfriend and a nice accepting family and it turns into a fun, light read with a happy ending! (

This was good. I really liked the plot. I was very happy to see that the angst wasn't overdone or dragged out for too long, but I was also impressee that all wasn't forgiven in an instant.

Brian had a rough go of it from his parents and his pack only to have his mate do the same. Marcus did it out of some weird sense of resposibility he felt to his parents to provide them with grandchildren.

I'm glad he didn't take too long to decide that his happiness was more important than having biological children--which he could still have with a surrogate.

I liked that Brian was willing to give Marcus another chance, but made him work for it, without going overboard.

I look forward to reading about the other brothers. (

Unexpected Mate is like most shifter books. Brian has been kicked out by his pack is broke down on the side of the road. When Marcus shows up the attraction rocks both of them. It takes a few hours and some brotherly advise for Marcus to realize what he's about to loose. I love how Brian is willing to fight for his love. (
