Milton Hershey was a poor boy growing up with only a fourth grade education by the time he was 14. He bounced around jobs but when he worked at Royer's Ice Cream Parlor, he realized I liked desserts. By 18, he opened is own candy store and this lasted for six years. In 1882, Hershey moved to Colorado and learned how to make caramels with a candy maker. Because this candy maker made his caramels with milk instead of paraffin, making it taste better, Hershey wanted to start his own business making caramel candies. From there he went on to chocolate and became very successful. He was very giving and generous to all of his workers and to people in poverty. At the end of the book there in a timeline and glossary. Throughout the book there are certain words bolded that are found in the glossary. I'll admit, there were some words I did not know, such as paraffin. I learned that it is a waxy substance used in candles medicine and make up. It's very informative and expands vocabulary. ( ) keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
