Hot Vet with abandonment issues and is the local woman whisperer as well and his office manager who came from out of nowhere, their attraction finally comes to fruition after she is planning to return to her family and she has a scare. They both have stuff to deal with to make a go of things.

The basic plot thread is virtually identical to Animal Magnetism only this time it is Jade who is leaving rather than Brady.

While Jade and Dell have steamy chemistry, the snarky sarcasm and witty banter that characterized their relationship in book #1 is disappointingly missing. Dell is sexy, patient and caring but his womanizing is somewhat of a turn off and his background could have been better developed (perhaps we will get more of this in Adam's book).

Jade is an amalgamation of opposites. On the one hand, she seems strong willed and self-confident but this turns out to be a facade. Yes, her mysterious past is traumatic but she has a tendency to come across over overly weak and needy, and she takes too long to stand up for herself both with Dell and her family.


The Belle Haven animals, Peanut the sex obsessed parrot, Gertie the slobbering St. Bernard and Beans the gun-shy kitten, totally upstage the characters and the romance although Dell's brother, Adam, is definite hottie material. ( )

I met Jade and Dell in the first book of the Animal Magnetism series, and enjoyed their chemistry even then! This is the second book and I think it was a lot better than the first. Jade has great sass and Dell is the kinda guy that enjoys it with his silent smiles. I loved the little OCD qualities that made Jade unique, and the fact that Dell did as well. I found this to be a quick enjoyable read and I look forward to the reading the rest of the series.

I Picked Up This Book Because: Continue the series.

The Characters:

Jade Bennett: running from an attack in her past.
Dell Connelly: doesn't’ believe he can maintain a successful relationship
Lilah Young, Brady Miller, Adam Connelly Dell’s brothers and soon to be sister in law

The Story:

Sunshine is the cutest town apparently with the cutest men. Both Dell and Jade have had a rough past. Dell as he was growing up, Jade more recently. Unable to face her life in the aftermath Jade gets in her car and drives west. She ends up in Sunshine and the town sticks. Throughout the book Jade promises her family she is coming back home but as her confidence and relationship with Dell grows I think any reader can tell that’s not happening.

Book 2 in the series is about Dell Connelly (one of the 3 foster brothers this series is about) Dell is the town’s veterinarian and so called animal whisperer. Jade Bennett has been his assistance/bookkeeper/organizer of his life for the past 18 months at the clinic. She ran from her old life when something tragic happened but she had promised her family she would be back and that time was coming. In the first couple of chapters the Peanut the parrot steals the show with his comments... As with the first book this one is 100% character driven. The chemistry between Dell and Jade was top of the charts. One more book in the series left - Adam's. Can’t wait to see what shenanigans Ms Shalvis will have in store for him in the romance dept. ( )
