This book has four anthologies in it. It’s theme is The Stepford Wives or Wives of Orange County, which is a bunch of rich women who think they are all that and that they must have the latest fashion.

As for The Real Werewives of Vampire County, to me it is not worth buying. I suggest borrowing from the library if you want to try it out. I only picked this one up for Alexandra Ivy’s novella, since I’m enjoy her Guardians of Eternity series. I did try to read the others and you can see my individual reviews below.

Where Darkness Lives (Guardians of Eternity #8.5) By Alexandra Ivy

~ 3 Stars ~

This one was about Sophia, the mother to the four werewolf daughters in the series. Sophia, I have never been a fan of. She is a total bitch and drop dead gorgeous, though the author did try to give her a more softer side and explain why she is such a bitch. Luc, is a purebred werewolf as well, drop dead sexy, and alpha to the core. These two have an instant attraction and with the werewolf magic coming back and mates being found it works. They don’t give in, but fight the attraction until they both combust with some intense sexual encounters. Their is also a mystery and I did not see who the bad guy was until it happened.

Where Darkness Lives is a good read.

Murder on Mysteria Lane By Angie Fox

~ 3 Stars ~

I was a little confused at the begging on what was happening, but soon figured it out. We get a verity of supernatural creatures from vampires to a verity of shifters. This one is a murder mystery with a werewolf who does not fit in with her pack, but has a very rear ability that is needed. She ends up having to team up with a Vampire to find the murder and they uncover something deeper and more sinister going on. It’s got the Wives of Orange County thing going. The relationship was interesting and we get a few hot and heavy scenes.

Murder on Mysteria Lane was a good read.

Werewolves in Chic Clothing By Tami Dane

~ DNF ~

I ended up DNF this one at Chapter 4. I could not figure out what was going on nor could I get into the story. Felt no connection to the characters or plot.

What's Yours Is Mine By Jess Haines

~ 2 Stars ~

This one is more urban fantasy and has no romance. It’s a women with a past looking to secure an advantage for her future, but it does not turn out as she hoped. We get rich and catty house wives, who are werewolves. I really should have DNF this one too. It just did not work for me.

"Where Darkness Lives" by Alexandra Ivy (Guardians of Eternity #7.6)

I’m not fully versed in the Guardians of Eternity series, but this novella feels very much like it’s connected to other stories with numerous character references and plotlines that aren’t included here. Not that the story is confusing, it’s not. The story is about werewolf Sophia, prized among her community for her fertility (she has four full grown daughters who I’m guessing had their own stories previously in this series) who reluctantly hires a bodyguard when numerous threats are made against her life. The lust is instant and almost just as instantly declared to be love for no discernable reason that I could see. Sophia is prickly and waspish, but we are constantly told how hot she is, so that proved good enough for the equally hot, stereotypically alpha Luc. Everything felt tired in this book. The characters, their thoughts, the romance. I’ve read basically this exact story a million times before, and I’m afraid it hasn’t improved over time.

"Murder on Mysteria Lane" by Angie Fox

This was my first Angie Fox story and it was great fun. Sexy when it should be, funny when it could be, and smart and clever everywhere else. Heather McPhee is a werewolf with the rare ability to extract the truth from people. She gets ‘loaned’ out to vampire Lucien Mead to investigate a murder. The undercover operation forces them to pretend to be married, a storyline which actually didn’t get taken advantage of as much as I had hoped, but I loved Heather’s Pretty Woman/Miss Congeniality transformation from tomboy to trophy wife, and the genuinely sweet way Lucien and Heather fell for each other. This story was over much too soon and I really hope Angie considers writing a series about these characters.

"What's Yours is Mine" by Jess Haines

I’m a huge fan of Jess Haines’ H&W Investigation series, so I was psyched to learn that this short story would be set in the same world. Unfortunately, apart from the twist ending, I was completely underwhelmed. The story has no real strong character to connect with, rather there is a group of pampered, catty, elite ‘werewives’ prowling for a suitable new woman to join the pack, which they find—with much disagreement—in Tiffany Winters. The writing itself is fine, but the sharp characterizations and killer dialogue I’ve come to expect from Jess was noticeably absent.
Sexual Content: A scene of sensuality Rating: 2/5

"Werewolves in Chic Clothing" by Tami Dane

The Burbs meets Desperate Housewives in this surprisingly fun mystery. When Christine moves across the country to move in with her fiancé Jon in his posh, gated community, the welcome she receives from the other wives in the neighborhood is overwhelming…especially when they tell her that they suspect Jon killed his first wife. Christina was a likeable, fully fleshed out character with a wonderfully unique ‘voice’ and pragmatism that was kissed with enough curiosity to get her in and out of one crazy situation after the next. The supernatural element is light, and almost superfluous, but the story entirely enjoyable.
