I enjoyed reading this book. When you start to read the story it is easy to see where it is going. But you may not know the why until later in the story.
RJ Bannon is on leave from the police dept due to an injury. He is starting to get bored when a cold case catches his interest. An abduction of 3 yr. old Ann Montgomery. When Ann was kidnapped there was no trace evidence left to help locate her or to say what happen to her.

Erin Randall is a beautiful talented artist, who RJ wants to know better. As RJ and Erin start to spend more time together he starts to realize Erin has some tantalizing similarities to Ann.
Someone doesn't want what happen to Ann to be uncovered. When RJ starts looking deeper he may have to put his own life on the line to protect Erin. ( )

Trust is both an interesting police procedural about a long-missing child and a contemporary romance. A well-written and engaging story. ( )

I found this book to be too descriptive. I also didn't like how the author focused solely on the characters at the beginning instead of the story. I want to be drawn into the story quickly and slowly introduced to the characters, not the other way around. Not my type of book. ( )

I normally love Janet Dailey's books. But this book was lacking something - maybe the chemistry between the main characters, maybe the fact that there was so much detail that the story seemed slow or that there really wasn't much mystery in the story. I don't know what it is and although I did finish it, I'm not sure I will read the next book in this series. ( )

This is a light and enjoyable read. The characters are likable. The mystery is obvious and the romance predictable. RJ Bannon is a nice and expected type of hero. Erin Randall seemed a bit thin and her motivation for trusting Bannon and going along with his ideas seemed unfounded. None of my petty criticisms matter, however, because the story is still enjoyable. ( )
