Madison is dealing with a new junior high school, an distracted single-parent father, missing best friend, and a soccer leader who wants her off the team. She is also strongly interested in learning everything she can about becoming a Defense Attorney, like her father. While she is confident on the soccer field, when Jake, a new boy, pays attention to her she is unsure of what it means. She does have a confidant in her father's elderly secretary and asks her how to "know if someone is your boyfriend instead of just a friend?" She and Jake attempt to solve a missing person her father's client is accused of murdering (getting into hot water for some of their actions while doing so) and to find Madison's missing best friend. SUMMARY: It was Maddisons first day of middle school which was very, VERY exciting for her because she was a soccer star in elementary and she wanted to be one in middle school. So she got up and went to school super excited but didn't see her best friend Ann which worries her but she goes on with her day yet doesn't see Ann at soccer either which is not like Ann so this really worries Madison. So she keeps calling, texting and Facebook messaging Ann but she doesn't respond. But Madison meets a boy named Jake who helps her and lucky for her kind of her dad is a lawyer and there is a case with a man charged with murder. Madison and Jake go to the court and watch the case be solved. Madison sees Anns mom at the mall but she runs away which really freaks Ann out. Madison notices a woman at the court and next time the court happens she follows the woman and finds out the mans wife left because he abused her. Then Madison goes to a private school and asks people if they knew Ann because Madison had a soccer scrimmage there and swore she saw Ann. Then she finds Ann and everything was solved.

OPINION: I really liked the book because it was so suspenseful and mind bending. I love books like this because they really make you think but this one had not only one but TWO mysteries! The book was really good is what I'm trying to say and I will definitely be reading from this author more and I recommend it if people like mysteries. Just the way they add characters and make you speechless with the reveal of what happened was amazing and I could read this book five more times before getting tired of it which I can not say about a lot of books this one particular book I just amazing! A decent kids mystery. The mystery of the missing friend with a deceptive murder mystery on the side. It's a no for language, but I think most kids would like it. ( )

Madison Kincaid could small victory--she could taste it, she could even see it on the scoreboard where Lewis and Clark Elementary School, the Multnomah County champion, was beating its archrival, Prescott-Mather Prep, Washington County's best.
