Another family is singing the blues when Postmaster Roy Everson shows up with bones that may belong to his mother, who??s been missing for sixteen years. But the most disturbing discovery is the decomposed corpse found in a cave on Mount Sawyer. I have enjoyed the ride of this series for quite awhile now. This book seems to tie up all the loose ends and almost feels as if the author is bringing the series to a nice conclusion. If not, Emma's life is taking a new direction and the series will continue in that bend. ( )

I've not read this author before, so I was jumping into a series in progress, which can be a bit confusing. Were it not for multiple references to earlier events, this could have been a comfortable stand alone.

It felt as if there were too many characters and their story lines, but that's probably because I haven't read the whole series. The main characters were well drawn, though I found the 'Catholic' thing a bit ridiculous: how could anyone, even a priest, accuse an unwed Catholic mother of sin for being involved with a divorced man?
