This book seems to tie up all the loose ends and almost feels as if the author is bringing the series to a nice conclusion. If not, Emma's life is taking a new direction and the series will continue in that bend. ( ) I've not read this author before, so I was jumping into a series in progress, which can be a bit confusing. Were it not for multiple references to earlier events, this could have been a comfortable stand alone. It felt as if there were too many characters and their story lines, but that's probably because I haven't read the whole series. The main characters were well drawn, though I found the 'Catholic' thing a bit ridiculous: how could anyone, even a priest, accuse an unwed Catholic mother of sin for being involved with a divorced man?
