I literally fell asleep reading this collection of jump-rope rhymes, most of which are between two to four lines in length. I guess lying on the sofa keeps them from being as stimulating as when one is jumping and hopping as fast as one can.

As a comic strip buff, I did find it interesting that rhymes about Popeye and Blondie and Dagwood Bumstead made it into the folklore, but that was as good as it got for me. ( )

This book is a great book for when reading and talking about multiple examples of poetry. It has lot's of different stories filled with rhymes and illustrations. I think this book would be great for 3rd grade and up. ( )

This book is good for a primary or intermediate age group. It gives a variety of jump rope rhymes and games that can be associated with them. I might pull it out if I had students that were really into jump roping, but I think too many of the poems are too outdated, sexist, etc for me to have it in my classroom library freely.
