This had quite a bit more plot than is normal for this sort of erotica. It's always difficult to sell the idea that three brothers are going looking for this sort of relationship. Here at least there was a fairly convincing back story that helped. Pretty well written and I was glad to see some concern that not everyone in town was all onboard with this life style either for themselves or for others. There are always going to be bigoted people and that is built in conflict for long term ménage stories. Too many authors ignore this easy plot point. Oh well liked it overall. ( )

I was pleasantly surprised. It was deeper than I expected. Poppy is fairly well adusted considering her family and upbringing. The brothers are strong yet vulnerable and not afraid to let Poppy see it.

I got this book from ARe. I saw it had a committed menage and a preggo heroine and that is a trope I love. I realized by chapter 2 that I might have a problem with it. Too much of the premise was a pale imitation of the Colters series by Maya Banks. Three brothers all looking for a Ms. Right to share. They find her, she gets pregnant, then shot. They take her home to their family mountain to recover. The brothers have 3 dads (2 brothers 1cousin) and that's how they knew that sharing a wife is what they wanted. Then that's where the imitation ended and true wtfery begins.Graphic language and wtfery are in the spoiler section. The heroine had a miscarriage 2 months before this pregnancy so everyone is worried. One of the future fathers-in-law becomes her ob-gyn (which creeps me out.) After an upsetting phone call from her asshole father, Poppy goes looking for Trevor, the only brother home, to comfort her. This is what she gets. ***She knew her father would disown her for defying him, and she needed to feel like she still belonged. She was so close to believing she’d found the family she’d always longed for. “Trevor?” He didn’t acknowledge her until she was right beside where he was stretched on the couch, laptop in front of him, keying furiously. “Fucking robots,” he swore, tapping harder. “What Poppy?”“Um, do you have a minute?” she asked, talking to the side of his head.“Do you have food?” “No.”“Wanna fuck?”“What? Um, I guess if you want.”The churning in her stomach increased with every reply. “No, you don’t, you smell like you puked,” he said absently, and continued to play his game. *** Real Prince Charming, right? So Poppy grabs her purse and plans to leave. Then she starts cramping and is convinced she is miscarrying again. Instead of asking the only person home to drive her from the mountain to the hospital, she steals his truck to drive herself. And wrecks. Youngest hero and another future FIL find her and rush her to the hospital and FIL ob. They give her meds and she is fine and forgives Trevor. She says she was just being overly sensitive. Then the book talks about her gasiness. Because that is something I need to know? O_oBack on the mountain, Poppy becomes closer to her future MIL. This is where the MIL gives her the details of her sex life with 3 men. Then Poppy shares the details of HER sex life with her soon to be MIL.If that isn't weird enough, the youngest hero is called Baby Boy by the family and the heroine calls him that, as well. This actually skeeved me out more than the gassy heroine, OB FIL, and sex talks with the MIL.After 13 days together, Baby Boy has decided he's in love and must tell Poppy. She doesn't want to hear it yet and this romantic explanation follows. ***“What you are offering is like…like eating too much chocolate. I love chocolate, but if I ate ten pounds I would probably vomit. I don’t want that to happen with us.”“Love makes you vomit?” ***And we are only at 43%.Then Poppy is scheduled to have her first pelvic exam with her OB-FIL. The books say she shouldn't have intercourse the night before so the brothers convince her to give anal a try. The next morning leads to this gem of a scene. ***The next day in the waiting room, however, other natural functions occurred, and she was mortally embarrassed when what should have been an innocent enough bout of flatulence ended up soaking her pants. ***Yes, ladies and gentlemen. The book includes wet farts. Don't be concerned, though. Poppy confesses to her FIL, the ob-gyn, that she tooted his sons' jizz into her undies. He is professional and reassuring.Later, it goes into details (again) about the heroes' appearances. Cody with his "little belly", Michael is the "scrawny" one, and Trevor is prematurely graying. So very attractive. A little time is spent at this part with Poppy reassuring Michael that she doesn't mind that his dick is smaller than his brothers. It's all okay because twue wuv doesn't care about penis size.Later, the future MIL starts telling Poppy about the physical attributes of the FILs. I was forced to DNF the book at 63% when the ob fil told Poppy she didn't have to thank him for passing his huge dick size on to his sons. ( )
