I was very disappointed in this book which documents Jennifer Pharr's record hike on the Appapachian Trail.
Her book, "Becoming Odyssa", was outstanding because she wrote well and gave the reader a good insight on the natural world, hiking, and on trail life and the wonderful people met along the way.

But this book by Brew Davis doesn't seem to capture the wonder or excitement of either the trail , trail life, or much about the people met, just the pit crew during the record setting attempt.

I do like the photos scattered all through the book. i could not find any reference who contributed any of them however.

I think athletes might connect best with this book, rather than hikers or those who hike to be in the outdoors. ( )
