The Flaming Blade: My Days in Babylon, is a reflection of the hard work and sacrifices faced by many young Americans who unselfishly don the uniform of the U.S. Armed Forces. Each one individually, and respectively has their own story. In this eventful account, I am grateful to have the opportunity to share my story with you the reader. It has come with great reward, sacrifice, loss, and healing, however, I have enjoyed it to the utmost. As you flip through its pages, I would like for you to keep one thing uppermost in your mind, as I have throughout my career that: No One prays for Peace more than a soldier, because it is he that has to make the ultimate sacrifice. The Flaming Blade and The Rise of the Phoenix are two excellent accounts of your life. The Flaming Blade is an excellent account of your experiences in the U.S. Armed Forces. The Rise of the Phoenix does an excellent job illustrating for your reader how you became the man that you are today. Everything about these two books is nicely done. You have done a great job capturing your memories and committing them to paper. (This is not an easy feat.) Even though these are written as personal narratives, you have written them in a way that many will enjoy and benefit from reading. Your narrative voice is very familiar and friendly and you have a way with words. It is obvious that you have done your homework and put much thought and preparation into your work. Your books are well written. I wish more people would take the time to write their stories down like you have. I am sure it will be embraced by many. What a legacy you are leaving for your daughters too (by the way). We can learn so much from reading the stories of other’s lives and experiences. The greatest value in any story, it seems to me, lies in what we can learn about our own lives when we take time to analyze someone else’s. Bravo!
The Council of XII: Tsillaria360 was a very interesting read. You have a terrific writing style when it comes to fiction prose. You have obviously done a significant amount planning and preparation in crafting your work. Your prose is nicely written with details that capture the reader. Right from the start your plot was very engaging. You do a nice job of slowly making your way through the story with details and a certain voice that allows your reader to really interact with the characters (who are all round and very nicely developed). Characterization is one of the most important elements of any successful story. I always love it when I leave a story feeling like I know the characters. This is true for your prose. So many authors rush through their stories without really developing them. Not you. Your book read like a movie in my mind. You have crafted a quality piece of writing. In fact – all of your writing was great. I enjoyed my review of your work!
