After reading the first book in this series I couldn't wait to read the second. However, this one wasn't as good as the first.

The Lennox brothers; Cole and Burke ( that we first "met" in Their Virgin Captive, are back with their own story. They own their own Security/PI business. Cole is the brooding male that we all hate to love and Burke is the easy one. They meet Jessa a year before the main story happens and there are flash backs to their days together. Jessa has loved them since then and while she tries very poorly to guard her heart in the end they get the girl.
There was a lot more sex in this book than the first and there was not a lot on the plot. I know that the son of the man they put in jail was wanting to make the boys feel as bad as he did when his father was killed in jail, though there was very little action when it came to this. He took Jessa, and within a chapter or so the boys had killed him and his goons and jessa was safe. ( )

Another great collaboration by two of my favorite
authors.

You got the sweet, the innocent, and the brooder.

Lessons can be hard won when you are young and naive.
Experience deals out tough lessons, as our heroine learns.

But when hearts are involved, nothing is easy.

I am loving this series and looking forward to
the books that follow in this series.

I really am enjoying this series. Cole and Burke were so hot and so very alpha. The story is well written and the characters are for the most part lovable and believable. The sex scenes are steamy hot and flow very smoothly. The bad guys were truly evil and irredeemable. The bad guys and the wicked secretary get what they deserve in the end. I was kind of hoping the secretary would get a little more than she did actually. The only thing that I saw that was wrong was the bullet leaving a small hole when it exited the bodyguards head. Bullets leave small holes going in and the bloody mess when they exit. Overall though it is a good book and I would definitely recommend it.

This is the second book in this series. We met Cole and Burke Lennox in THEIR VIRGIN CAPTIVE. They were the security people trying to find Hannah’s stalker. Cole and Burke are twins and they have shared everything since they were born, including their women. While working on another case they meet a young woman that both men know is the one they want a permanent relationship with. Jessa Wade has fought against what was expected of her for years. She wants to be an artist but her wealthy parents want her to take over the family business. Since she won’t conform to what they want her parents disown her. Jessa is happier on her own and she has the help of a flighty aunt that own a hotel in New York City. During the Christmas holiday Jessa, Cole and Wade end up in the bar that is part of the hotel that Jessa works in. They instantly hit it off and for about a week things are magical. Unfortunately the magic doesn’t last and the case the guys are working on calls them back to duty. They promise they will return but the mission takes longer than they expect. Things go downhill from there.

Cole and Burke are both more than a little damage emotionally. Their parents died when they were young and they were raised by an alcoholic uncle that was emotionally abusive. The uncle was especially hard on Cole. Burke is a more carefree, optimistic man than his brother. Cole is an alpha male Dominant through and through. These guys are good at what they do and they have loved the work that keeps the bills paid. They are essentially two halves of a whole. I was very glad that they decided to fight for Jessa because there are times in the beginning that Cole seems to give up. These two are going to make good husbands and fathers. I liked them a lot and I hope to see more of them in future books.

Jessa is a strong, independent virgin that has been on her own for a while. She loves to paint and she is happy with her life in New York City. She is opened mind and willing to experiment. There is little that gets her down. She has accepted who she is and what she wants out of life. While she doesn’t have her parents and there are times that she is very lonely she makes the most of her life. She is perfect for Cole and Burke. Once she gets over being hurt because of their perceived desertion Jessa realizes that they are all meant to be together as a family. I think that she hangs on to her bad a little too long. Yes the men didn’t call but they were in a dangerous situation and they had someone keeping tabs on her so they thought she was safe. I am a believer that we don’t have to know every little secret of someone we care about. There are things in everyone’s life that they don't want to talk about with anyone. So this notion that a significant other has to know everything that is going on and that there are no secrets is crazy. Anyone that works in the military or law enforcement knows there are going to be times that a wife or husband can't be told what is going on. Mission are classified as secret for a reason and only those that are part of that mission are supposed to know what is going on and how dangerous it might be. OK, rant is over. I like Jessa for the most part and was happy that these three were able to work out their problems and become a family.

The bad guy in this piece is the typical asshat that thinks he is better than everyone else. When Cole and Burke come for him it doesn’t take long for the villain to realize he is out matched. While there is suspense in the story this is more about the forming of the relationship between the three and the recovery of that relationship. The suspense is secondary to the rest of the story.
As with any book that these two women write there is lots of steaming hot sex and a good measure of Domination and submission. Yes, there is spanking, bondage, anal sex and assorted other acts that are part of a BDSM relationship. So be warned and yes there is menage sex as well but never between the brothers. ( )
