The animals of the zoo were all having children and made a pair of pandas and a kangaroo quite jealous. They wanted children so badly that when an endangered egg arrived at the zoo the kangaroo decided to adopt and to hatch it. When the egg hatched the kangaroo had a new baby penguin to raise and it loved to sleep in its pouch. Now the pandas wanted a baby as well, so one day when a kitten walked into the zoo they adopted it too. All the animals in the zoo helped these animals raise their children.

Review/Critique: The animals at the zoo are having babies but the tree kangaroo and the pandas want babies, but can't have one. Then, a man comes with endangered animals to take care of us. So the kangaroo adopts a penguin and the pandas adopt a kitten. This is a fable, in that the animals talk and preform human actions, like adopting. ( )

This is a story about having a family in the zoo. How everyone is into each other. This is a good book because it talks about a real life situation that could be something that happens to us in life but with animals so that it can connect better with students. The book rhymes and is fun. I would use this book to inform children about animals birth and a great story about how its okay if people around you are different meaning diverse you can still be friends with them or apart of each others community. This book is about zoo animals that are living life. But some pandas and kangaroos are jealous of other animals having babies. Soon the panda finds a kitten they take as their child and the Kangroo takes an egg and hatches a penguin and keeps it as its own child.
This is a good fantasy because it shows how animals live, how baby animals live in the zoo, and shows love and compassion for animals that are not the same as them. This is a good fantasy because animals could not talk in real life and in this book they talk to each other about raising baby animals.

Can't do it. Can't love it as much as I want to. Nothing wrong with it per se, but Bad Science is my pet peeve. Dr. Seuss had it right when he invented critters so that he could be free to have them behave however he wanted them to. Tell me you know of a marsupial incubating a bird's egg and I'll revisit. ( )
