Keine Keine aktuelle Diskussion zu diesem Buch.  skirret | Jan 2, 2015 |   sci fic writer has to attend a huge book signing for a week and he has killed off his main character and the readers are furious and attack him with their nerf swords while dressed in their costumes at the convention. a female photographer who's in costume comes to his rescue and learns about his series of books and about him and the career suicide he wrote. when she learns more personal things she thinks this is just what her boss wants, it better be or she's out the door. her brother is along on the trip to the convention center and everybody has secrets that come out. some hurt more than others but can they get through it? i know nothing about the role playing games going on but it was fun to read it. hoping there is another book to add to make this a series. The heroine of the story is a reporter sent to infiltrate the convention and come back with a scoop. The hero is a best-selling writer whose fans have turned against him for killing off the main character in a highly successful series.
The mystery lies in his motivation for disappointing legions of fans, and the romance in his involvement with the undercover reporter sent to bring back a story.
A simple enough scenario, but the lavish and carefully researched details of the convention and its unconventional participants raises the book way, way above the average.
I couldn't help recalling scenes from the parody movie Galaxy Quest. Almost no similarity in characters or plot, but a shared and utterly authentic representation of sci-fi fandom.
Enormous fun to read and a fascinating glimpse into an unfamiliar world.
