A little girl and her mother get ready for bed in this short but sweet poem. The poem begins with great imagery that tenders the heart. “The stardust sky and the silver moon is out and little toddler and her puppy yawns.” Deborah Lee Rose causes the reader to reminisce about their personal childhood memories of bedtime. It reminds me that a little moment can create a great memory. The rhymes flow easily throughout the poem. The illustrations are beautiful cross-hatched drawings that pay attention to detail, even down to the position of the blankets. This is a lovely bedtime themed poem that any little girl would enjoy. Everybody gets tired and this book walks the reader through the process of getting ready for bedtime with a little girl who does everything while sleepy. the story is simple and is very relatable as everybody throughout their entire life has a "bedtime ritual" that they do. The main one I saw was the brushing teeth image that not only is very relatable for children, it gives a positive hygienic message for children.
