Cold Case Affair by Loreth Anne White is about a woman coming back to her home village of Safe Harbor in Alaska, she has to take over her grandfather's business. She finds herself caught up in trying to deal with her suspicions, her ex-boyfriend who lives next door and a sneaking suspicion that she's in deep danger.
It wasn't bad but I really didn't engage with the story or the people.
Her Hero in Hiding by Rachel Lee caught me a lot more.
Clint Ardmore is happily living as a hermit when he finds a woman, badly bruised, at the side of the road. She is running from her ex-boyfriend who kidnapped her. Between them they have to keep her safe, he has to face his demons and try to work out where this building relationship is going to go. The author amped up the tension and the feelings between the two characters and made me feel for them. I really enjoyed it. ( )
