Lädt ... A Hunted Manvon Jaime Reese
![]() Keine Keine aktuelle Diskussion zu diesem Buch. ![]() ![]() With a good editor, this could have been a five-star novel. It's nearly typo-free. All the emotional hits are there. But as described below, the edit-fails doom it to mediocrity. The series concept is interesting, and this novel is complex enough to be satisfying. The protagonists are good, if not always given enough depth. I really like the growing conflict neither is aware of for a big chunk of the story. And, gods, the panic attack scenes left me in tears. I felt for these characters. But the overwrought prose often verges into juvenile in sentence sameness and overstating everything. I took a lot of breaks in order to avoid DNF-ing, even though I could tell all the elements were there as noted above. Some parts flow well, but others come off as choppy, and/or disorganized. There is WAY too much telling (after dialogue or actions already showed me). Like, not just over-stating many thoughts and actions, but restating actions or dialogue. All the time. If I ever read any more of these, or anything by this author, it will be on sale, and I expect much the same reaction. Gehört zur ReiheThe Men of Halfway House (Book 2)
