31 of 75 for 2015. Wow! Didn't see that coming. I do have to say that Peyton Brooks is the least sympathetic lead character I've yet met in a mystery series. I hope she gets better in future books--or maybe it's just my innate dislike of the police and their tactics that soured me on her. The main suspect, on the other hand, was very well drawn and I almost immediately jumped into his corner as his world came crashing down on all sides. I'd like to know more of his story. Peyton's, not so sure. But if a mystery about police overreach is what you're craving, this book has it in spades. Highly recommended. ( )
