Lädt ... Murder on Potrero Hillvon M. L. Hamilton

I do have to say that Peyton Brooks is the least sympathetic lead character I've yet met in a mystery series. I hope she gets better in future books--or maybe it's just my innate dislike of the police and their tactics that soured me on her. The main suspect, on the other hand, was very well drawn and I almost immediately jumped into his corner as his world came crashing down on all sides. I'd like to know more of his story. Peyton's, not so sure. But if a mystery about police overreach is what you're craving, this book has it in spades. Highly recommended. Zeige 2 von 2 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
Gehört zur Reihe
Peyton's daddy always said a case was like a stool, built on three legs. First you've got your suspect, second your evidence, and third your motive. Peyton knows the first suspect is always the husband, but Jake Ryder doesn't. When he's accused of killing his wife, he decides he isn't going peacefully. In fact, he's going to fight to the very end to prove he didn't do it. But fighting the entire police force and the social elite of San Francisco is bound to get you killed, unless you have a detective on your side. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
