Many of them more than once, some more than twice. I've purchased all of them. I am a fan. Unfortunately, I'm not happy with this book. I suppose the things I'm dissatisfied with could be blamed on I not being the target audience. I felt like a lot of this book carried me from fact to fact without any time spent building atmosphere or suspense. The change in Alice, the un-dead super old mage, the blood giving to the Bogart... there was no forecasting of any of these things. This book 13 just doesn't feel right. It doesn't match the story I've been reading. And, what happened to the Fiends thumb bones? Why must Grimalkin use silver for her leg repair? At some point in the series it started to feel like he was setting up the next book and the next and I thought once we got to the end it would feel more complete. No, now he is setting up for the next series. I'm not sure I will be reading the future series. I'm even going to pack my books. I love the world, the darkness, the witches but I feel so dissatisfied with what the story is lacking. Again, I must admit I am outside the target audience and since I'm unsatisfied I should move on. I will miss you Tom Ward, Alice Deane and John Gregory The Greatest of the County Spooks. What a shame for Joseph Delaney to end his epic 13-book series with a flop. There are so many ways this books fails: Tom's relationship with Alice, the Spook's denouement, the long build-up to the showdown with the Fiend and his followers, only to find out there is something worse out there. The writing was suspenseful, but many plotlines were a grave disappointment to loyal readers. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

HTML: The thirteenthâ??and finalâ??book in the internationally bestselling fantasy adventure series that inspired the forthcoming major motion picture Seventh Son. Finally, Tom Ward, the spook's last apprentice, will confront the Fiend for the last time. A stunning conclusion to the acclaimed series! Tom Ward has battled boggarts, ghasts, witches, dark gods, and the most terrifying creatures to roam the earth. He's allied with the witch assassin Grimalkin, with a powerful boggart, and with Alice . . . the young witch who is also his true love. And he has kept one step ahead of the Fiend, the most evil being in the world. Now he will vanquish the Fiend once and for all. But it will require a terrible sacrifice: not everyone Tom cares about will survive the final battle. The Last Apprentice series is soon to be a major motion picture, Seventh Son, starring Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes, Alicia Vikander, Kit Harington, Olivia Williams, Antje Traue, Djimon Hounsou, and Julianne Moore as Mother Malkin. It's a suspenseful thrill ride that's "spine-tingling" (Publishers Weekly) and "anything but tame" (Horn Book). But don't read it after dark Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

A bittersweet end to an epic 13 book series. There are some open plot threads left (I believe there is a sequel series), but overall a pretty satisfying ending.
