On Tu B'Shevat, little Netta, who lives in Israel, brings a plant home from preschool. She loves it. Netta grows and the plant grows, until it is time for both of them to find new homes and new friends. Netta and Her Plant tells the story of the changes Netta encounters as she grows up, getting taller getting a new baby sister, and preparing for her first day of kindergarten at her new school, each stage of her life mirrored by her growing plant. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others due to the cultural relevance, relatable plot, and beautiful illustrations! It is about a little girl named Netta, which means plant in Hebrew. She receives a seedling for B'Shevat and helps it grow. Throughout a year, she grows along side her plant, conquering obstacles together. B'Shevat is the Jewish New Year for trees. I learned about this holiday and the surrounding culture by reading this book. I loved the illustrations in this book because they highlight the culture of Israel. The illustrations also allow you to follow the growth of the plant and Netta. Zeige 5 von 5 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
