I have read quite of few of Martina Cole's books but after a while I just found them to be the same story but with different characters. I haven't read one of hers for about 3 years and they haven't changed..........they are good, quick reads......the language and violence is up there tho.......

I can always remember reading ‘The Ladykiller’ by Martina Cole and being blown away by it. I had never read anything like it before. I was then hooked by her books. Lately though her books have lost a little of what made her early ones so good.

This book is along the same lines. Micheal Flynn works his way up to the top of the east end crime world and is untouchable. He has a wife and a daughter, and plenty of cronies. From his past someone surfaces and wants revenge.

What I found with this book was that the story line was quite weak and the middle section of the story was fluffed out with a plenty of violence and swearing and I did think over use of the ‘c’ word. As with all MC books this is what to really expect and if a reader is easily offended then these books are not for them. I enjoyed the first part of the book and the end section but the middle for not really much happened compared to her earlier works.

As always a good read but I felt that MC has done a lot better in the past. ( )
