I really enjoyed this second book in the trilogy. I found this one more entertaining than the first. It had more action and kept me reading more than the first. I enjoyed Reggie and her down to earth ways. Would have liked a bit more about the twins. ( )

Princess Ever After is a fun, light read. The main character, Regina, is a Tallahassee girl with a hick side, who just recently left her job as a CPA to restore cars. I enjoyed that her character traits and background were both strong and original. I don't see too many female mechanics in any romance genre.

Little does Regina know, her Gram was actually a princess who had to flee her country, making Regina the rightful heir to the throne. Although the idea has been done before and is a little far-fetched, Rachel Hauck successfully makes the plot as realistic as possible. Regina has doubts, identity issues, and not everyone in the country is ready to welcome her as the monarch with open arms.

The romance in the novel was very sweet, especially if you like love-at-first-sight. Regina and her love interest, Tanner, seemed to be drawn to one another from the beginning.

Personally, I recommend reading the first book in the Royal Wedding Series, "Once Upon A Prince," before picking this one up. I think the politics and history of the imaginary countries of Hessenberg and Brighton are best explained in "Once Upon A Prince," helping the reader to understand why the stakes are so high for Regina and the other characters in this novel.

I hope this isn't the last book in the series. Maybe Hauck will write about the younger sister of Susanna from "Once Upon A Prince" or the twin girls from this story, aging them up, with cameos from other characters. ( )

This was just an all around feel good story about a small-town girl finding out she is really a princess. Regina Beswick thinks she is content running a classic auto restoration shop in Florida until Tanner Burkhardt shows up. Tanner is the Minister of Culture in Hessenberg and is in Florida to tell Regina that she needs to come to Hessenberg and reclaim the throne for her country. Of course Regina must now decide whether to stay and restore cars or go and take over a nation. Quite the dilemma. But Tanner will be there with her every step of the way, and that together time will lead to a very enjoyable romantic plot to this story.

I really enjoyed my time with Regina and Tanner and both characters were fun to get to know and they made quite the perfect couple. Who hasn't dreamed of being a princess as a little girl. For Regina, her dreams will come true and the princess stories her Gram told her will come to life.

This could easily be read as a stand alone story, but you will get to catch up a little from friends in book one if you read the stories in the order they were written. ( )

"4 out of 5 stars!! Regina (Reggie) thought she had it all and was on the life path/career path that she was supposed to be on, that is until dashing Tanner comes into her life throwing her a curve ball that she is a princess. Now she needs to visit her great grandmothers home country in hopes of learning about this place that her Gram had to run away from and see if she can turn it around for the better. That is, if she finally decides to commit to being the Princess that everyone expects her to be...."

First let me just say, I LOVE this cover! I’m not wildly in love with the cover for the first book in this series because it gives the impression that the woman we see is undressed but everyone has different ideas of what is or is not appropriate so I can understand if I stand alone in that area.

But THIS COVER IS PERFECT! It just screams Princess! to me. LOVE IT!

Second let me say that I have gotten into an Amish obsession lately so I decided to branch out a bit and read some other Christian fiction.

And I’m so glad I did! WOW!

Rachel Hauck is an AMAZING author!

I really don’t know if I am even a good enough writer to do this review justice. I have no idea how to tell you just how amazing this book is without sounding like a silly fan-girl.

One thing I will say about “Princess Ever After” is what I said to mum while I was reading – I am terribly excited to see so many Christian authors stepping out in faith. Too many others are making money on stories about supernatural happenings that are clearly impossible, it’s high time we show the world just how SUPERNATURAL our AWESOME GOD is!

Rachel Hauck blends these wondrous occurrences into her stories so well, you might not even catch them the first time through…unless you’re looking for them or you are exceptionally close to God yourself but they’re in there.

In “Once Upon A Prince”, we read all about Suzanna giving herself over to God – to do with as He choses. This is a bit more of a struggle for the characters in “Princess Ever After” but they do finally manage to “let go and let God” and the story is so much better for it!

The characters grab your heart right away and will not let go! And the story is so intense, you can’t stand to put the book down for even a minute. I read this book faster than any book other book I’ve read in over a year!

Now I find myself rushing through the rest of my TBR pile so I can go back and read the other books of Rachel Hauck’s that I haven’t yet! And impatiently awaiting the next book in this series too!

Disclaimer: I received this book free in exchange for an honest review. ( )
