( ) Someone breaks criminal mastermind Jackson Winters out of jail on the condition he perform a heist for them. All he has to do to stay out of jail is steal a ghost from a haunted house. So he assembles his team--a medium, a skeptic, a set of TV ghost-hunting brothers, a thieving magician--and comes up with a plan to do just that. But you don't get to be a criminal mastermind by being careless and Jackson is very thorough in his research, so he knows not only why he's stealing a ghost but exactly how to turn this into a caper he can survive. I liked the art. The darkness suited the story and the characters had distinctive looks that showed their personalities. I loved the story and all its twists. Most especially the final twist about Jackson himself. (Provided by publisher) I got this book because the description of it as Ocean’s 11 meets ghost hunters intrigued me. This ended up being an okay book that is very much like a supernatural Oceans 11. It wasn't bad, but I wasn't all that engaged in the story and/or characters. This is very much a horror story; there is a lot of death, violence, and blood. There are some fun creepy scenes as well and the story takes some nice twisting turns. The illustration is okay but not great. It was easy to tell what was going on and I enjoyed that it was in full color. I thought the detail was a bit light in some scenes and also thought that the perspective that the characters faces were drawn in was a bit off sometimes. Additionally there wasn’t a lot of emotion portrayed in the characters’ faces. The story is wrapped up pretty thoroughly so I am kind of struggling to see where it will go from here. I am sure it would be easy to make the lead character have future adventures with ghosts in a different setting, but as a I said...they leave him at a place that’s pretty wrapped up. Overall this was an okay graphic novel. For those who enjoy gory horror novels with a twist you might like this. I personally just thought that the story, characters, and illustration was just okay and don’t plan on reading more of the Ghosted graphic novels.
