Nick Walsh, champion ski jumper (aerial freestyle skier) is participating in a competition that is a precursor to the upcoming Winter Olympic Games. He wants to eventually win the gold for his late brother, Cody, who was also a skier and died in a skiing accident a year ago. Nick is also receiving dangerous threats--someone tampers with his skis, sends him menacing letters, he's shot at, etc... While at the competition he meets an old acquaintance he went to school with, Julie Frost. She is at the competition to do a tv news story on Nick which will really help boost her career, from being a production assistant to being an on-air tv reporter. Nick, at first, isn't thrilled with the idea. He dislikes reporters and doesn't trust them. When Cody died the press tried to ruin his good name with suspicions that he was using drugs. But after being with Julie he sees she's an honest person and he knows he can trust her. But he also begins to worry that, by being with him, her life could be in danger too.

This was a fun, fast-paced read. I liked the storyline with the skiing competition and the setting in Bend, Oregon. I liked Julie and how she tried to help Nick find the answers to who was trying to hurt him. She also encouraged him to get back with his estranged family. I also liked Nick. He was a good hero. He was still broken up over his brother's death and blamed himself for the accident. There were some interesting secondary characters--like ski groupie Kitty, who was hounding Nick and following him from competition to competition. This was an enjoyable Love Inspired Suspense with a captivating storyline. Great read! ( )

Treacherous Slopes is full of action, danger, grief, suspense and some romance. It starts off strong and keeps going until the end. I guessed part of the suspense and was surprised at others events that happened. It is also a clean read.

I like that Nick is a strong character. Someone is trying to kill him. He is favored to make the U.S. ski team again. His first jump goes wrong and he figured that who ever is after him as struck again. He does not want anyone to get hurt because someone wants to kill him.

Julie has her first reporters job. She has pitched the story of local skier Nick Walsh was home again and favored to make the team. She plans to interview him. Julie and Nick went to the same high school and even worked together in some classes.

Nick lost his younger brother a year ago on a ski jump. Since some reporters were banding around that he did drugs and ruining his good name when he is not around to do it himself. Nick does not want to be interviewed.

Nick has a fan that comes to a lot of his competitions. Kitty is sure that Nick will love her too.

One of the attempts on Nick's life creeped me out. I would have run and screamed too.

I liked reading Treacherous Slopes. I would read more of Terri Reed's novels based on it.
