I enjoyed reading this novella. I think the relationship was built up pretty well for how short the story is, and I liked the characters and their passion. Sometimes the book was more violent than I would have liked, though.

I really like Stacy Reid's writing, but her books are sometimes not my cup of tea. Some of what she writes is more towards the erotica side of things than I personally prefer, without the emotional connection that I look for in romance. This novella had the romance that I was looking for though (even if it was short), so I'm happy. ( )

This is legit the opposite of slow burn - married in one day and banging that night - their relationship is also a little unhinged.

This is my 11th book by this author and the first 2 star. It's short and kind of bland, but I might have still rounded up or something, but on top of that I didn't really 'buy' any of it. The heroine is a nutter, and the hero is dukely and pretty much nothing else. And, almost all of their choices are very questionable. I'm glad that at least it was short. This is a rocky start, but I'm going to continue with the series. ( )

This book zoomed by. It was so short and everything happened so quickly. I wasn't expecting that. But it was a fun, quick read. Not quite instalove, but pretty close. Jocelyn went to Sebastian, the Duke, and claimed his brother had compromised her, made promises to marry her, then left. She demanded the Duke make his brother marry her. But it was too late. The brother had already married. Jocelyn the demands the Duke marry her instead. And much to her surprise, he agrees. He has his own reasons for needing a wife and figure Jocelyn would fit the bill. So the two marry. At this point, the book is almost over. Jocelyn quickly falls for her new husband, but conflict arises when she wants to reach out to his mother, a source of much tragedy in his past. Sebastian has to figure out how to deal with his past without losing his wife. With everything happening so quickly, there's not much time for the drama to fester and pretty soon, our couple is getting their HEA. A very fast, drama light read with a grumpy hero and a head strong and determined heroine. ( )
