Filled with illustrations of some of the most adorable babies in the kingdom, this ... book looks at the traits that all baby mammals share and proves that, even though they're born in the wild, they're not so very different from us, after all"--Dust jacket flap. Personal Response:
I saw this book at a book fair and had to have it. I love the very sweet illustrations and the simple, easy to understand facts. This book looks like a picture book because of its size and colorful illustrations.
Curriculum Connections:
This book would be a great supplement to the classroom curriculum to meet the Next Generation Science Standards which include mammal parent/child relationships in the lower elementary grades. It is also a nice way to explain that nonfiction doesn’t have to have photographs and very structured text to give factual information.
