In a way, it's what it says on the tin, but in another way it's a deeply moving story about honoring your past while living in your present. "Soul's Bargain" by Juliette Wade scared me a little, in the way that I could relate to the protagonist who was dealing with a body that had changed on her. This particularly moved me in a personal way, because as I read it I thought of my betraying body and how it caused me to do things differently. The beauty of the ending was touching. (I can't word today? I feel awkward trying to describe this now. I think it felt too personal. I'll need to read this story again.) The Jemisin story was solid.
