I have to say that this was my favorite story from Renae Kaye thus far, and it doesn't hurt that I also thought it was the smexiest of her works as well.

Both Elliot and Hank are starkly lonely in the small rural town in which they live. Once they know each other's secret, they forge a friendship and then an intimate relationship while trying to keep their own growing feelings for each other under wraps. This was definitely fun, flirty, playful and hot. This had great sexual tension, and it was sweetly realistic witnessing Hank navigate the ins and outs of his first relationship ever.

There was also some pointed angst and topical concerns regarding small town homophobia. These guys' situation of being forced to hide their sexuality due to fear of losing their friends and livelihood was a bit heart breaking. There was also a vulnerability to Hank as he believes he couldn't possibly hold Elliot's interest to keep him from going back to the city once his loan obligation was fulfilled.

So again Renae Kaye does great with tender angst and mixing it with a lot of humor and warmth. These two MC's didn't have a bad bone in their body and it was wonderful watching the natural progression of them falling for each other. Overall a fantastic, feel good, smexy read! ( )

Wow. I just read an amazing story about a sheering gun named Hank and a doctor named Quackle. I read this in one sitting and i could not put it down.. I loved Elliot and Hank, i was hooked, smiling and laughing from beginning to end.



This was a wonderful romance story with some smexy scenes:

I immediately wished Simmo were aiming it toward me. I remember thinking that if there were no one else around, I would grab that monster and suck it in with pleasure.
And that was it.
Like a freight train, the knowledge that I wanted to suck his dick—and virtually every other dick in my immediate vicinity—hit me. I wanted dick. I liked dick. I was gay.
Nine years later, in the foyer of a brick veneer rental, I knew for sure I was gay. And I still wanted dick. In my mouth.
Elliot groaned but didn’t move, so without hesitation, I nearly threw my face at him, and got up close and personal with his package. Did I mention I loved dick? I rubbed my cheek against his penis and buried my nose in his pubic hair. ( )

This was just lovely and sweet...and exactly what I needed this past week.

Honestly there is not much more that can truly be said about how wonderful this book is. A perfect blend of humor, sweet love, and some of the best sexual innuendo conversations I have read. Love love love for these two. Plus this is back in Australia, which only made me yearn for Travis and Charlie (Red Dirt Heart).

I just cannot recommend this book enough...it is really just right for any mood, and perfect to help you when you need a boost.
