Somewhat ridiculous story line but it's about what you expect from this sort of book. The romance was nice and there were some funny lines. 2 stars. ( ) When twins Kathryn and Jack and younger sister, Mariah are set to make their London appearance, it's all their dowager aunt can do to keep them in line. But then Jack, or Jacko as his friends call him decides he doesn't want to play by society's rules and goes off on a trip to the continent, well, Kathryn decides that her family can't stand another season of ruin and trails after him. But she is the one to find herself in the face of ruin, the face of a darkly handsome man with a scar and eye patch over one eye going by the name of Jules. Well, to make things right, why not marry the chit, that's what her aunt insists upon, and for some reason, it doesn't seem to bad of an idea to Jules. But will the two get along and will they both get what they both secretly want out of this whole cherade? I liked this novel and enjoyed the relationships between all the characters very much. Each one had flaws and traits that stood out and made them funny or hated. I would definately read more from this author. Zeige 2 von 2 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
Scandal leads to love when a spirited lady finds herself entangled with a French nobleman in this Regency romance from the author of A Soldier's Heart. As her brother and sister prepare to make their Society debut, Kat Thistlewait vows to sit on the sidelines like a proper young lady. But when she tries to save her mischievous twin brother from his own errant ways, Kat lands herself in a compromising position with battle-scarred but kindhearted French nobleman Jules Devereaux. Following an honest mistake involving the wrong bedroom--and knowing that no lady of quality would ever overlook his imperfections--Jules agrees to marry Kat in order to save what little reputation she has left. But a marriage of convenience isn't what willful Kat or Jules desires. And when a daring duel puts all in danger, they soon learn that true love grows from the most unlikely of beginnings. "A talented author with a real gift for linking the modern reader to the glamorous past." --RT Book Reviews Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |
