Yes, apps date and more arrive that are even better than those in this book, but what is here is quality. Perhaps the best part of the book is the fundamental information that will help many of us become more "literate" regarding the uses of apps. Another great part of this book is the concept and reinforcement it gives to become the expert in terms of app advice. The checklist for app review is great! It CAN be used and applied regardless of the timing of the app, and it serves to suggest that the apps in this book have been vetted in this manner. Not a small challenge! Many students today (and their parents) are worried about the price of apps as well as the use of apps. This book offers a great guide to how much they may cost as well as how they can be used. Recommended. Zeige 3 von 3 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen

Disclaimer #2: While I work in a library, I'm not actually a librarian.
That being said, I found this to be a very useful, informative read. While I was familiar with many of the apps listed, some of them were new to me, and I look forward to checking those out. And moreover, even for the apps I was already very familiar with, it was great to see all of the app details in one spot. The information about pricing, compatible operating systems, and basic functioning of the various apps is something that I know will come in handy when assisting patrons. I wish I'd known about this book earlier this year, when I was teaching iPad classes to library patrons.
So, overall, this is a concise, informative book, and I look forward to putting the information it contains to good use when assisting patrons. ( )
