Another great one by Meghan March. To start off I'd like to say that although this is book 2 of the series. You can read it as a standalone and not get lost. They mention the characters from the first book so reading the first book will help you understand some of the history of the two characters but other than that its not absolutely necessary.

I listened to this on audio as thats the only version my library offers, but I love the narration. There is woman for Vanessa's POV and a man for Con's. I'm impressed that anyone can do a narration of a book like this that so graphic and erotic. I would blush through the whole thing and probably do an aweful job.

What I love about the main characters in this book is that there outward appearance and personality is nothing like there true selves. It makes you second guess catergorizing people before you get to actually know them. While Vanessa seems like a rich girl who only cares about being the 'perfect princess' she actually true cares about those less fortunate and doesn't care about where Con came from. Con also shows a tough play boy personality but really he works with teens to help give them a future and has feeling that run far deeper than they appear.

The plot twists were great. I really thought I saw where a lot of this story was going, but I was so wrong. The timeline of this book over laps the first one a little bit. Which is really interesting if you read the first book. And the steaminess of this book was high on the heat level. Definitely a book for adults only. Although a small word of caution. Con exhibits possessiveness, and is super bossy. There are a few other things in the book too that may cause trigger issues for some people. So if really dislike the 'alpha male' romances, then this book may not be for you.

I love how the books seem to be tied in with each other while still able to be read as stand alones. I can't wait to see who the series progresses. Hoping to see more of previous characters after having invested so much into them emotionally.

How I choose my rating:
1* Hated it. Had to force myself to finish it.
2** Didn't really like it. Didn't hate it but not sure why I finished it other then for some closure.
3*** I liked it. I had some issues with it, but as a whole it was good. I probably won't reread again ever, but there is a chance I might finish the series. (If part of one) But if not it's not a huge loss.
4**** I really liked this book. Maybe not a work of genius, but highly entertaining. I might reread this again, and I will finish the series. (If part of one) I would recommend to those I know hold interest in this books content.
5***** I loved this book. I found little to no issues with it at all. I will definitely be rereading this and probably more than once. I will finish the series and reread it multiple times. (If part of one) I will recommend this book to EVERYONE!!!! ( )

I've read a few in this series and this was the least interesting, or perhaps I'm "acclimatised" to the excitement! But there didn't seem as much in this one as in Scars or Chains. ( )

The writer is very talented, her writing is unique and flawless.

I actually loved the book, I loved Con in book 1 and in the first book you realise he is a total manwhore, Vanessa on the other hand was a bit irritating at some points, and she was a push over BUT in the end I liked her!

My main problem was that I really wanted to read book 4 so badly and Lucas is also a main character in book2, a total jerk might I add, but to understand him better I wanted to read book 2 first, but you do not need books in order all is stand alone, but part of a series.

So it is not this book fault that I got impatient, I really blame it myself and on the fact that I did not start the series or know about this author when the books was originally released.
