"Born on the Isle of Skye, Darcy is a beautiful woman of many gifts. Fortune-telling is her forte, and she remains the only Druid who could unlock the secrets--and desires--of a Dragon King. His name is Warrick. And now that Darcy's seen into his dragon heart, nothing will ever be the same... Warrick never intended to put Darcy in harm's way. But ever since she revealed a shocking truth, Darcy has been hunted by the Dark Fae, who want to use her powers for their own evil purposes. Now it's up to Warrick to do whatever it takes to keep the woman who sets his soul on fire safe. But protecting Darcy means putting himself--and his entire race--in jeopardy. Is his desperate longing for one woman worth the risk of losing everything...for eternity?" --… (mehr)

ARG!!!!!
Okay so I'm happy that Warrick is the latest King to find his mate in Darcy. Sucks that she has to be the one that Ulrik uses to gain magical powers which in turn forces her to lose hers. Warrick has to come out of his shell to protect Darcy and find out just what the heck is going on. Darcy, for her part, stays neutral about most things and tries to see all sides of the issue. Could she really be the only one who suspects that someone other than Ulrik may be pulling the strings.
While I love the romance and chemistry between each couple it's the side stories that are really grabbing my attention. Those are what I want answers to;
(1) Rhi---what the heck is going on with her? Three men who are in love with her yet she still yearns for the unnamed King who dumped her. (Still have a feeling it's Con even though it now looks like he might be making whoopie with Queen Usaeil.) And what is going to happen when she decides just who she is now?
(2) Ulrik--- how long is he going to wait before he unleashes his vengeance against the Kings? How much longer will he let his uncle think he's in control? And what's with him kissing Rhi...say what?!?!?!
(3) Con---now he is in serious trouble; between losing his grip on reality and control of the Kings he's heading for a MAJOR breakdown. Is he really spending time with Queen Usaeil and to what ends? I have a feeling there is a lot more to his back story and Darcy looking into Ulrik's memories might hold the key to shedding some light on some interesting facts.
Now I see that there is the mention of a mysterious missing King simply known as "V"....and a close connection to Ulrik was hinted at....hmmm.
Thorn's story is up next and since we haven't seen much of him this could be an interesting read. Just hope it holds it's own against the trio of Rhi, Con and Ulrik. ( )

The hero knows that the dragon king who came to her to lift the magical bond over him isn't a very good man. But she also sees into his past and knows how the others of his kind betrayed him so she lifts some on his curse. When this act draws attention of the dark fae, he comes to warn her-telling her that the kings will be hunting her as well. The hero is social awkward- a loner. He prefers his own company to even his brethren so when he's tasked to track down the druid and keep her out of Dark fae hands, he's shocked at how easy it is to talk to her. He finds himself drawn to her and even comfortable around her. But he doesn't want a mate and the fact that he's been sent to spy on her puts strain of their budding romance. Most of the story is spent into the warded store with little in the way of action. This author has a god awful habit of needing to explain in great detail every single thing that's happened in the previous books. I understand the need to allow new readers into the storyline but have some thought about the readers who have already been through all of this before! Half of damn book is spent beating a dead horse with a stupid amount of questions and answers. Also, though I did feel some chemistry between the characters, what made this book bearable was the debate of who was good and who was bad. This was certainly the most the author has spent on making the villain relatable and understandable. It was a constant tug of war as she bounces you back and forth over the issue of if the guy is redeemable or not. Also, it also makes the same argument that the dragon king leader is far from a nice guy and in most ways can be just as bad as the bad guy. I really enjoyed that aspect of the characters but other than that, I found this book to be horribly lacking. I enjoyed the heroine because she had a level head and refused to allow anyone to pressure into anything. She had her opinions and she spoke them with firm belief that the villain wasn't 100% evil. I liked that the hero stood by her, disagreeing with her on things yet never willing to take her to task for her opinions. Though he depicted as awkward, I honestly didn't get that from him. I wish he truly had been because I thought him to be a bit bland. Overall an interesting book. ( )

Warrick finds him self having to save a druid who very well may be his mate, but he feels he's not ready for a mate. Darcy is a druid who has helped Ulrik in the past and he needs her help again, but the Dark Kings are plaguing her. And The Dragon Kings are divided on how they should keep her safe.

I really enjoyed this story, it was full of suspense and action, I didn't know who they should trust in the end there was so many twist. And there was some little teasers in the epilogue for another book that I will be looking forward too. 5/5 ( )
