At first I admired this book for its lovely watercolors. then as I read, I found it was funny. Humor is great way to approach fear. I mean the dark, girls, wasps, haircuts and plaid all can be scary!
This is a sweet book about giving yourself a chance to face your fears and have a positive experience.

The title character, Orion, is like Scaredy Squirrel and Alvin Ho, in that he is scared of many things. The book has a collage-like design to it, with two spreads that feature a cut-out design. But several pages feature dark text on dark backgrounds, which makes the story difficult to read, especially at bedtime, for which this story is particularly suited. ( )
