I really enjoyed this book just to read to my children at work. They love the fact that its in Maryland and they react so cute. They get so excited. Books like these pull childrens interest in by being able to relate to the topic. ( )

This book was wonderful. The plot was paced very well. the boy went through the various areas and creatures throughout the book and did not drag out one part longer than the other. The stories pace felt very natural as a read aloud. Another thing that this book did really well was the illustrations. They are extremely detailed and add so much depth to the story. The picture of the main character who is a young boy really looked like how he was described. Additionally, all of the creatures that were described throughout the book look just like the pictures in the book. The pictures added true landmarks of Maryland which is fantastic because the book takes place in Maryland. The main idea of this book was to entertain readers. ( )
