The story begins when we are introduced to Grey and Gloria. Grey stops to help Gloria and quickly finds his world changed upon meeting this charming and strong character. One gets the sense that there is more that meets the eye with this stranger and Grey founds out soon enough just how true that is.
The story begins to take on a serious note as the author Stacy Eaton lays out the defining moments of a woman named Barbs life. The tension builds as Eaton creates a somber environment that consumes our emotions and spits us out somewhere on the other side riddled with loathing for the character Tom and the desire to aid Barb who will go to any lengths to escape the chocking grasps of a madman, he is also called her husband.
Barb meets Grey it is obvious to see that she had forgotten how kind a man can be as she seems mesmerized at the way he comforts her daughter Allie. She has a sense as does Allie that he is nothing like her husband, where he was bent on destruction Grey is his opposite in every way, lending a comforting hand to an otherwise difficult and sad situation. For Grey he was filled with anger for the way that Barb must have been treated if those bruises on her face were any indication, her husband was no man at all but rather a barbarian.
I am not gonna tell the rest, you will just have to find out for yourself. Eaton does a great job with keeping the plot in Barbara’s Plea moving at a sure footed and steady pace. The character development is also fantastic. This is an original story with enjoyable characters. Great Read! ( )
