The psychological trauma of a child kidnapped and then brain washed to get revenge had me very interested. As this book wore on though I was frustrated by the ability of Addie to be such a computer hacker, and keep her cool when confronted with all the lies she'd been told by "Father." They kept talking about how much of a genius she was, trying to make me buy into it. Not that teens can't be great hackers-- I buy that -- but something just felt off about it. When it ended there are so many loose ends left hanging, I feel like there should be a sequel. The audio is good, but if there is ever a sequel, I won't read it. ( ) When Addie Webster suddenly returns after being kidnapped at age 9, her family is relieved by there are also lots of questions. Her dad is the President. There seems to be something more going on than meets the eye, with Addie and the people surrounding her. A terrorist group called Cerberus is ramping up their attacks, even though several of them seem to be warnings and a show of ability. Addie is glad to be reunited with her childhood best friend. There are lots of twists and turns and a big helping of suspense as what the plot (and Addie's role in it) are gradually revealed. "Zero Day" was a great YA political thriller. Dealing with espionage, national security, lies, secrets, family drama and kidnapping, I found this book highly addictive. I loved the fact that I was questioning the motives of various characters throughout the book, and that the romance wasn't the main focus of the story. Although the plot was rather implausible at times, I found myself quickly caught-up in the action of this fast-paced and multi-layered novel, and I think it will have wide appeal amongst YA readers. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
