Note: I received a digital review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. Once again I have found my self reading and enjoining a book from older times. I have always been fascinated with Greece's history and finding this book literally put a smile on my face. I think people who are interested in history specifically Greece's history will enjoy this book. If I was to rate this book out of ten I would give it a ten out of ten. I would give it a ten out of ten because if fist everything I look in a book, interesting, cliff hangers, and I easily fallow along. Polyhymnia walks in and beginning the story of Apollo's life. Leto Apollo's mother and one of Zeus's loves was comming out of Hyperboria in the form of a she wolf , Hera the wife of Zeus did not like Leto. Zeus told Hera not to touch Leto, so instead Hera banded Leto from all dry land. Zeus asked his brother to make an island for Leto to bare her children on. Then Apollo and his sister went to Zeus , Zeus told them to ask for whatever they wanted. Artemis Apollo's sister asked for a bow and arrows, Apollo didn't answer so Zeus gave him a bow to match his sister. He avenged his mother by killing the serpent that fallowed her when she was pregnant. Apollo went through a lot of losses and heart break. His father almost killed him for killing the Cyclops, but he survived that and supposedly still lives today. I've written before about how much I love this series of mythology biographies. They are so good that you should read them all right now if you haven't already, and also, buy copies for all the kids you know, who will also love them. If you don't know any kids, make sure the local library has them. One of the great things about them is that in the extensive back matter O'Connor explains his choices and decisions as to which stories to include and how. Great stuff. Library copy Comic book reworking of the birth and life of the Greek god, Apollo This comic collection tells the story of the Greek god, Apollo, from his birth to his various dalliances. It retells all the myths concerning Apollo in a visual style as told by the Muses. Quite well and simply illustrated, this works quite well but is not hugely engaging. For those new to Greek mythology. Zeige 4 von 4 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
