By all rights, this story shouldn't have appealed to me. Business bores me, I don't code, and I'm not kinky. But, I read the amazon free sample months ago. I am a sucker for compelling characters. Anna Zabo writes very compelling characters. Still, I wasn't sure I'd enjoy the book. I am happy to be entirely wrong. Not only did I enjoy it all, including the critical point handled so beautifully, but I love how it ended. Many romances go on and on. This one ends right where it needs to. ( )

Michael Sebastian doesn't mind finding some fun while he's on vacation. And while his latest trip hasn't led to much, he knows he's found it when Sam Anderson walk into the bar. The two share an incredible time together, and part ways never expecting to see each other again. Until Michael gets back to work and realizes he knows the new CEO who has just been hired. Michael wouldn't mind exploring another night with Sam, awkward as it might be now that he's the boss. But for Sam, who just might share a similar longing, it's not possible. Not entirely because of the workplace romance issue--but because he's not out, and he doesn't intend to be. As they work closely together, both men will need to explore what they want, what they need, and what they're willing to give up to get it.

There is an interesting intensity in the writing on this one that helps bring the feelings of the characters to life. It's quite an introduction to the world this series is set in, and I look forward to reading more.

Agree with Gaia_Sol below - a good office romance - and really sweet. I keep discovering new paths, as I take this journey through the hundreds of sub-genres of the romance novel, and Anna Zabo is a master. Listened to this book on a recent car trip and found it deeply involving. Towards the end I had an epiphany that tipped the scales for me to appreciate this book very much. As avid readers, Isn't this what we hope for from every book! I've read so much rom com in the past year, it was good to be reminded that there are still love stories that don't revolve around wit and cleverness – as much as I love these qualities! ( )
