OK At first I had a problem with this one, because he was a rapist, an in my eyes they can not be redeemed. Ok people before you go off, that my opinion, however, as I continued to read, I appreciated that Phoenix never thought that he should have been forgiven, he knew he did wrong, and he beat himself up for it, and he hated himself. Rachel did a good job with this, because it was a touchy subject. I always remembered that I am a hypocrite, because in the 80's in general hospital Luke had raped Laura, and then they fell in love, and I was all for Luke and Laura.. I've had a love hate relationship with this series. A part of me loves it and a part of me gets frustrated because I want more. Finally, this book started to give me more of the fluidity that I was wanting. The characters felt more realistic and felt like they had more of a connection. I forced myself to come back to finish this series before I read about the kids in their new series. I'm glad that I did because this book gave me hope that the best might be ahead of me. ( )
