He is visiting his relatives and they make fun of him because he is so gullible. They tell him many things, and he believes everything. In the end of the book all the things they told him come true. The conclusion of the book is "seeing is believing". I liked the story and especially the colorful and diverting pictures. ( ) First of all I have to mention that I really appreciate the illustrations of the book, which are made by the author herself, Margaret Shannon. The story is about a warm-herated, gullible and naive guinea pig that tries to help people. The book shows exactly how people can hurt other people when they make fun of them and utilize their credulity. By the end of the book, the protagonist has left, because of fear of the monster. The book makes the family think, what they have done to him. I think the dread has made them think of their making fun of somebody. I really hope that the guinea-pig has changed their attitude at least a little bit. The relatives of the little guinea-pig are only making fun of him because it is so naive. A very lovely story about bullying and dealing with isolation. You really feel sorry for this little guinea-pig as its behavior is so cute. In the end, its only solution is to find help by its mother by whom it is always loved. When reading this book to children you can perfectly show them that the mother is always there for a child if it needs love, help and affection. Zeige 4 von 4 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
