Chicken little is a book about a little chicken who got all his friends to believe his story of the sky falling. Only realizing in the end that it wasn't the sky but just an acorn. All of his friends followed the little chicken and end up in a little bit of trouble with a sly fox.

I thought that the book was very cute. It taught a very good lesson. You cannot always believe what you hear. I loved the way all of the names rhymed in the story it made the story a fun read.

If I were to read this story in the class room we would do a name rhyming game. We would go around the class and think of fun names that rhyme with out own. We would discuss the moral of the what they think the lesson of the story was. As a group we would come up with our own version of chicken little.

I liked this story for the illustrations and the repetitive text. The pictures were of an adorable chicken, who is always a little frazzled, and everyone he bumps into along the way. They are created with bright colors and welcome the reader into the book. Throughout the book, Chicken Little runs throughout the town screaming "the sky is falling! the sky is falling!" For young readers this helps them predict what is going to happen next and build word recognition and sentence fluency if reading it aloud. The main idea of the story is to understand what is happening before you over exaggerate.
