This is the collection where you actually see Byrne coming into his own, becoming more comfortable with the dynamics of the team, more comfortable with his own storytelling, and much better at inking his own pencils.

The team goes through the wringer here, from losing their powers, to dealing with the nascent power of Reed and Sue's son Franklin, Johnny's love life catching fire (literally), and then Galactus messing it up, and, best of all, the maturation and increase in power of Sue Richards. She's still called the Invisible Girl, but she's all woman now.

So, great stories, great writing, great art. What else do you want from a monthly comic book? ( )
