This is a book for all those preschoolers who are entranced by trucks and heavy equipment, especially very LOUD trucks, especially garbage trucks. Two little pig children wake up with a thrill because they hear the GARBAGE TRUCKS coming. In rhyming couplets, we celebrate the noises, the intriguing grossness, the thrill of the watching the trucks and their ingestion of trash, and finally, the opportunity to imitate the whole thing with one's own toys. Lots of opportunity for wordfun, shouting along with the reader, and rhyming; brightly colored illustrations showing trash, trucks and (pig) sanitation workers along with some hanging-about dogs will capture the attention of most truck-lovers and all garbage truck fans. Pair with Kate McMullen's "I STINK!" and Andrea Zimmerman's "Trashy Town" for a garbage-truck readathon. Smash! Mash! Crash! There Goes the Trash! Is a very fun and engaging modern fantasy picture book, which is why I loved it. The book is about two sibling pigs who are scared of the garbage truck. The truck scares them because of all the noises it makes. This modern fantasy book is full of rhymes and fun noises that the truck makes. The main characters are animals that talk to each other throughout the book. They live in a house and walk and talk as humans do. They even live in a society like people, where there are city services. The book is very simple and was written for younger children. The illustrations are fun and the text is humorous based on that it is mostly onomatopoeias. The purpose of this book is to discuss and relatable small topic that some children could relate to. It was overall very adorable! Zeige 4 von 4 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
