I probably wouldn't have chosen this series but I was offered a chance to review it and I'm really glad I did. It took a little to get into the story but once there, you don't want to leave. The characters are wonderfully eccentric and it is delightful getting to know them. In this book, we get to meet Miss Christie and follow her romance with the arrogant, frustrated Marquess. The romance is very entertaining as are the politics and all of the "gifts" that the Malcolms seem to possess. Delightful read! I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. The unexpected magic series wouldn't be complete without him. I am hopelessly hooked on this series and recommend it to others. Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. Harriet finds herself in the employment of Marquis of Ashford. Ashford was blinded in an horse riding accident but he knows Harriet is hiding something. The two learn from each other and grow to love each other. Until Ashford's political work threatens their new lives together. Overall I enjoyed this book. I had a hard time getting into the story in the beginning but then I found myself sucked in. Diese Rezension wurde für LibraryThing Early Reviewers geschrieben. I always approach these with trepidation. More often than not, I give up on them out of boredom (most of the time) or annoyance (the rest of the time). But, I liked that the hero's lost his sight, and how, and what it meant. I love the powers, and the heroine's trouble with hers. The plot is busy! So, although the language is wordy as is typical in historicals, I was kept entertained.
If you enjoy them, I can recommend this one, even though its editor failed it a bit in the last chapter. ( )
