This was such a lovely story. The romance was cute and beautiful and all that stuff that makes me feel gooey inside. I'm kind of crushing on both the protagonists - Hope's so smart and funny and devoted to being a kickass doctor, and Laleh's all sweet and gentle with a wide-open heart. Their relationship sprang from a strange magical connection that lets them share memories and emotions, and it grew into something incredibly supportive, respectful and kind, with a ground rule of "No faking it".

And as a nurse, I was very impressed with how accurate the medical details of Hope's work were. A on that.

I was given this ARC by the publisher in exchange for an Honest Review.

That totally took me by surprise.

It's the story of Laleh and Hope. Laleh has been having heart palpitations and that sort of thing for awhile. Finally, it gets so bad and Laleh's mother is there. Her mother rushes her to the ER and there she is treated by Hope, an ER Doc. But, a weird thing happens when Hope has to shock Laleh back to life. Something that will intertwine their lives forever.

I would really rather not spoil it, because I'm not sure if others will get as much of a kick out of the twist that happened that I did. But, I definitely loved it. I wasn't expecting it, but it really worked and kept me interested in the story and guessing what would happen next (although near the beginning of the book after Hope and Laleh 'met' I did guess one of the big twists that happened towards the end).

As with other authors like Radclyffe and Brayden there were characters from one of Jae's other books (Just Physical), and I believe that there was a sorta cameo by another character from a different book? (I haven't read all of Jae's books yet, so... I know, bad reader. :)) It was also sorta cool to look at the characters in this book and wonder if one of them might get the next book in the greater universe.

It was a super fun read that kept me both laughing and thinking. ( )
