I stumbled across this book in my search for early reader nonfiction. This biography is told in a narrative form and takes the reader through an overview of Amelia Earhart's life. I was a little disappointed by the vagueness of the ending. It almost appeared as though the author didn't want to explain what actually happened to Earhart. More detail is provided at the end of the story, along with black and white photos, however, I'm not sure why this information wasn't included in the primary story itself. The reading level for the information at the end of the book is much higher than the rest of the text. ( )

I found this to be a very cute short book for young readers who are learning about the first women to fly a plane. I loved the easy and cute pictures as they were engaging and simple. The plot was a timeline of Amelia's life and leading up to her flying for the first time. It was very informational in a way which young kids would be able to easily follow along and understand. The lnaguage for the book was very appropriate and easy for younger and older readers. ( )
