Very readable and hilarious memoir from Spaceman 3 and Spiritualised bassman Will Caruthers. Honest and funny. If you lived in/through the 1980s its like a (bad)trip down memory lane: part social documentary/ part rock history. Captures the hash-soaked ,sordid end of a depressing,Tory-dominated decade before the internet and mobile phones made everything boring and samey. Hell - in the '80s you had to walk places, catch buses and trains and talk to people face to face and you had real-life experiences, not some second-hand second-rate shared experience through the viewfinder of your cosy-contract mobile phone. Reading this will make you want to start a band or build a time-machine so you can go back and be a Spaceman 3 groupie! ( )
