Rather complex for a cozy mystery, and such a fun ride! I'll be going back to pick up the beginning of the series. ( )

The Ghosts of Misty Hollow is the sixth book in the A Granny Apples Mystery series. In addition, there are three e-book novellas.

I found this book to be very entertaining, but then what’s not to enjoy when Granny Apples is around.

Emma Whitecastle and her fiance, Phil, have traveled to visit with Vince Costello. Costello, a crime writer, is working on his latest book which will have some paranormal scenes and he has asked Emma for her help.

As Emma and Phil pull up to the old farmhouse, Misty Hollow, where Costello is staying Emma notices a porch full of ghosts. At first only one was able to fully materialize, a young, Blaine, who had died while doing repairs to the roof of the family’s barn. Blaine, in time, asks for Emma’s help in locating his brother and sister who had missing when they were young, so that he and several family members can experience closure and finally cross over if they wish.

In the present time, Costello’s wife, Vanessa, leaves after they have another argument, in addition, his assistant, LeRoy also goes missing and Costello’s learns that a soon to be published book has been plagiarized from an unpublished manuscript that Costello had written.

Another well-written story with enjoyable characters. From Ms. Jaffarian. I particularly enjoy the character Granny Apples, a feisty ghost and she and pulls no punches when she communicates with Emma.

Will be watching for the next book in this humorous series. ( )
